MADONNA ... NYC ... HERE I COME ...
Guys I'm leaving for NYC in 7 hours, going to have so much fun with our Madonna and you guys. Meeting most of you at pre-party at hotel Dream and dancing all night away with a Disco Queen. I'll be back after July 4th and will update the site with all the new reviews from NYC

MY CONFESSION TO MADONNA ....

I have listened to you for 17 years now since the first time I heard Like A Prayer on the tape in Italy. Since then I have followed each and every step you have made on your way to the top. You are the most incredible, talented female entertainer in the whole world. Since Slovakia was for a very long time, part of the Communist Block it was very hard for you to visit and even harder for me to travel abroad to see you. I have moved from Slovakia to England from England to Slovakia from Slovakia to US. You were my strength in all the good and bad time. You were my friend when I was feeling so alone and lost in this world with the different language. Finally after 12 years of of listening to every song you sand, seeing every video, move you have made. Watching each concert on TV, after all that I finally got a chance to see you live in Philadelphia on July 22, 2001. I would never forget that concert. You are the only person who made me feel so many different emotions at the same time ... happy, laughing, crying, sad and many more. I could not even describe all the feeling were running inside of me. Life is so unpredictable. Changes always come along. I never thought I could really love someone as much as I love you with out really knowing you. I receive so much joy just being able to hear your heart singing. You helped me looked deep in my soul. You made me understand that life is all about appreciation and understanding but must be appreciated first before understanding. Inside of me there is a place where my deepest feelings are felt and where my favorite memories are safe and warm. Only the most special things in my world get to come inside my heart and stay. I realize how deeply my life has been touched by you. I know, you may ask your self how is this possible, how someone who does't even know me can feel so much for me? If I knew the answer, I would give it to you, but I can not. I just feel blessed for you coming into my life and I would like to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, that you were able to share your heart and dreams with us, people you don't even know. I wish you what ever your heart desire, because you most definitely deserve it. I pray for you and your family! With deepest love ... Daniela

Why do Madonna's hands look older than her face?
At 47, Madonna has the body of a teenager but the hands of a grandmother.

Pictured yesterday leaving her gym after a workout, the material girl displayed hands that appeared to be ravaged by age, with bulging veins and paperthin skin that wrinkled as she clutched a bottle of mineral water.

Older women are particularly vulnerable to "ageing" hands because the menopause causes a drop in their levels of oestrogen - the hormone that helps to keep the skin plump and fleshy. Exposure to sunlight and chemicals also cause thinning and drying of the skin on the hands, as well as brown spots, wrinkles and prominent veins.

According to Dr Alan Kanter, a spokesman for the American College of Phlebology (the study of vein disease), "veins also become less elastic with age and this allows more blood to remain in them, thus pressing them close to the skin which, itself, is more transparent as you get older".

Although they are not necessarily a health concern, Dr Kanter says big veins do "tend to age one's hands".

Madonna's hands reflect not only her age, but also that she's a keen exerciser.

"Strenuous exercise, particularly strength training, increases blood flow which makes the veins bigger," explains Dr John Buckley of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences and a physiologist at Keele University.

"Getting hot when you exercise also makes the blood vessels dilate. A lot of people notice the veins on their hands stand out after a gym session, but the older you get, the more prominent they become."

As blood flow returns to normal during recovery, so the veins reduce in size. But not always to the point where they disappear completely, says Dr Buckley, although he adds that exercise is vital for good circulation.

"The appearance of veins may be unsightly, but it is not unhealthy," he says.
A study published in this month's Plastic And Reconstruction Surgery, the official journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), confirmed that hands are a giveaway sign of someone's real age.

When subjects were asked to examine photographs of female hands and to estimate how old they were, most did so accurately.

Participants were also asked to compare digitally altered photographs of female hands - with blemishes and veins removed or jewellery and nail polish added - with unaltered photographs and to assess which looked younger.
Overall, the characteristic that most commonly gave away age was prominent veins.

Looking younger after a facelift or eyelid surgery can clash with aged hands,' says Dr Roxanne Guy, president of ASPS.

"After the face, hands are the second most visible tell-tale sign of one's age."
Madonna may be keen to hear the solutions suggested by Dr Guy. "A good skincare regimen that focuses on the hands can be highly effective in maintaining skin thickness and fullness," she says.

Non-surgical procedures, such as laser treatments and chemical peels, can reduce age spots. Fat injections can be used to plump up the hands, while laser ablation can reduce the prominence of veins.

Hand vein sclerotherapy is also an option. A virtually painless treatment, it involves injecting hand veins in a similar way to varicose veins in the legs.
A small cotton compression bandage is worn for two hours after treatment, and recovery is swift.

MADONNA Vs MARIAH

Madonna reportedly laughed "hysterically" after being told her pop rival Mariah Carey had to cancel several tour dates due to poor ticket sales.

The 'Hung Up' singer is said to have gleefully welcomed the news that Mariah had to shelve a host of US shows because of a lack of interest.

A source told America's New York Daily News newspaper: "Madonna laughed hysterically. She has been asking her tour promoters to email her Mariah's sales."

It is believed Madonna still holds a grudge against the 'Butterfly' singer because of something she said in an interview years ago.

The 47-year-old star is believed to be irked that Mariah, 36, once said she "grew up" listening to her music.

However, Madonna's representative has denied that the two stars are feuding, saying: "She has no negative feelings toward Mariah."

Mariah's spokesperson has refuted reports the singer has cancelled her shows because of a lack of sales.

The representative said: "Her tour is selling well. She's cancelled a few dates so she can add shows in larger cities."

A spokesperson for Madonna has denied she "laughed hysterically" after hearing news of poor ticket sales for Mariah Carey's upcoming U.S. tour.

Reports in the American press suggest the music icon took great pleasure in the apparent news of her pop rival struggling to fill the venues for her upcoming live dates. The New York Daily News claims Madonna holds a grudge against Carey, following a disagreement between the pair earlier on in their careers.

"Madonna laughed hysterically. She has been asking her tour promoters to email her Mariah's sales," a "source" told the paper.

However, Madonna's spokeswoman denied the reports, insisting: "She has no negative feelings toward Mariah."

Meanwhile, Mariah's spokesperson said the live dates were set to be a great success, commenting: "Her tour is selling well. She's cancelled a few dates so she can add shows in larger cities."

TRIBUTE TO MADONNA
Sexuality, Glitz Attract Madonna's Most Devoted Fans

Shomari Cooper sips a pink Material Girl martini at his table at Tisane Tea and Coffee Bar in Hartford, a blue ring pop dangling from the base of his glass. It's Tuesday night, gay night, at Tisane's. And if the name of Cooper's cocktail didn't give it away - the theme this evening is Madonna, a tribute before her "Confessions" tour hits Hartford this Sunday and Monday.

"Everyone loves Madonna, but it's one of those things they would never admit to," says Copper, 27, as Madonna's latest single, "Get Together," blares in the background. "There are so many closet Madonna fans."

And then there are those fans who have come out of the closet.

"Her most devoted following is her gay following," said Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg. "They've been with Madonna [since] she started in the early '80s."

But what is it that has hooked diehard fans for more than two decades?

Steve Colangelo knows. Last week, he popped a video of the 1993 tour "The Girlie Show" into his living-room VCR. "La Isla Bonita" filled the room. "Come on, look at this. You could just tell Madonna is no Miss Shania Twain," he says as the singer, dressed in a long military coat, marches on the small TV screen moments before breaking into a rendition of "Holiday."

The 37-year-old's dining table is scattered with Madonna-covered magazines dating back to a 1986 Life issue. They lie alongside records, a 1985 "Like a Virgin" poster, a Madonna mouse pad and one of his favorites, "I Dream of Madonna," a book filled with dreams women have had of the singer over the years.

On Sunday, he will attend his fourth Madonna concert at the Civic Center, the artist's first performance in the state since a 1985 show at New Haven Coliseum.

"Hey, Steve! I've got the big Madonna portrait!" Colangelo's Hartford neighbor Michelle Cutrali, 30, yells from her second-floor porch across the street as he steps onto his front lawn. "You want it?"

"Hey, Michelle!" he yells back to Cutrali, who is eating dinner with her partner, Diana. "Why do gays like Madonna?"

"Cause she's sexy!"

Colangelo laughs.

"Hey, Michelle!" he yells. "Why do lesbians like Madonna?"

"Probably 'cause Madonna made them realize they were lesbians."

Since her risqué music video "Erotica" and her book "Sex" debuted in 1992 - not to mention her "Girlie Show" performance with whip in hand, backed by topless dancers - Madonna has been recognized for her bold sexuality.

At a time when AIDS and homophobia caused others to retreat, Madonna's pro-sex persona was a big deal, said Matthew Rettenmund, author of "Encyclopedia Madonnica" and editor in chief of Popstar! Magazine. "Everyone is in the closet at some point, and you're told, `Gay is bad.'...Madonna was saying, `You know, there's nothing wrong with sexuality'...That's something gay people need to hear. ...She's a great icon in self-reliance and self-determination."

Rettenmund, who says he has been to nearly every Madonna concert, said the front of a concert, near the stage, will almost always be packed with gay men. "No one does fandom like gay men do fandom."

Richard Paul Salgado, 48, whose been a fan since Madonna's "Like a Virgin" tour, said about 70 percent of fans at concerts he's been to were gay men.

"She's almost kind of inherited ...the gay torch from Cher or even Streisand," said George Plasketes, professor of radio, television, film and popular culture at Auburn University in Alabama.

But according to Rettenmund, concerts are swarming with fans from every walk of life: girls and women who "admire her feminist power," dance music lovers and - to Rettenmund's surprise - a lot of older married men. "It's quite
a variety of people," he said. D

Paltrow helped Madonna heal feud with father

London: Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has brought her close friend Madonna back together with her father Tony Ciccone after pleading her to reunite with him.

According to contactmusic.com, Madonna had a falling out with her father when he remarried after the death of her mother when she was just five years old. Paltrow recently lost her father Bruce who died after a battle with throat cancer and regrets not spending more time with him.

Madonna's family friend says: "Gwyneth had a heartfelt talk with Madonna about her agony over losing her dad Bruce. Gwyn often talks of things she could have done with him, things she would like to have told him. Knowing he is gone forever is something that still crushes her.

"She told Madonna, 'If you don't make up with your dad and enjoy the time he's got left you'll regret it for the rest of your life."

MADONNA 'TURNS DOWN MILLIONS' FOR SEX PILL AD

Pop superstar MADONNA has reportedly turned down $3.6 million (GBP2 million) to promote a new diet and sex pill. The MATERIAL GIRL declined an offer put to her by a UK firm to advertise the Slimnsexy tablet, which it is claimed aids weight loss while increasing libido. Company boss JAMES DIXON tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "We thought it wasn't bad for 10 minutes' work. "But it was deemed too raunchy for her new lady-of-the-manor image. "It seems basques and crucifixions are OK but talking about her sex life isn't.

MADONNA AND JADE GOODY

It’s been reported that Madonna has turned down a £2 million pay cheque to front a new diet and sex pill. The company behind the supplement, a tablet that claims to help women shed extra pounds while boosting their libido, said they only wanted ten minutes of Madonna's time, and can't understand why she wouldn't take them up on the offer.

"We thought it wasn't bad for ten minutes' work," said exec James Dixon. "But it was deemed too raunchy for her new lady-of-the-manor image. It seems basques and crucifixions are OK but talking about her sex life isn't."

This not the first time Dixon has made headlines: a few months ago he was shopping the same story to the tabloids, but this time claiming it was Jade Goody who didn't want the job.

Madonna chic spurs Royal Highland Show to up glam factor

She’s an unlikely heroine of the farming set, but Madonna’s current obsession with raunchy rural chic has inspired Scotland’s most popular annual agricultural event to pile on the glamour as part of a push to make it more woman-friendly.

The riding outfits worn by the singer on her current world tour will have a pronounced effect on a catwalk demonstration at the Royal Highland Show, which starts on Thursday.

The fashion show is just one of a number of features at the event designed to widen its appeal – others include a flamenco dancing display and a Continental-style food hall.

“The show allows people, if they want, to come for five hours without having to look at a cow or a tractor,’’ said show manager David Dunsmuir. ‘‘The problem is people don’t know what we have here. It is the best-kept secret in Scotland, even though we take up six fields the size of Hampden.”

Juan Ramirez, who runs London-based Viva Flamenco, will bring a team of six performers north to perform . He said: “From our point of view, it will just be a normal show. We will get the audience up to do a little dancing if they want, but we won’t force them into it.

“I have been in the business for many years now and have played at all kinds of events. I’ve also done country shows before, so I know what to expect.

“It’s always very enthusiastic, a different situation to performing in a theatre where the audience don’t do much clapping along. Hopefully, by the end of the performance, the farmers will be ploughing in time to the music.”

The number of VIP fashion events at this year’s show has also doubled, with a raunchy rural chic theme – inspired by the tight bodices and riding boots worn by Madonna on her Confessions tour – featuring in the main catwalk show on Friday. More than 50 Scottish boutique designers are providing clothes and accessories for the £60-a-ticket event.

Angela Moffat, the fashion show’s stylist, said it was designed to appeal to a wide audience. “The show will have some glamorous looks, but will also give ideas for occasions such as gardening parties, travelling and city sightseeing – looks that will appeal to women of all ages,” she said.

A spokesperson for the Highland Show said: “Often there have been ladies going for years, so they are keen to see and do something new, not just look at the cows and sheep. Good quality shopping is very popular but it’s never promoted before. We are sure the ladies will like the new additions.”

Andrew Arbuckle MSP, who spent more than 15 years as the farming editor for the Dundee Courier before moving into politics, is looking forward to the more glamorous schedule.

“The bunnets will be birling,” he said. “I am all in favour of it. The reality is it’s still very much an agricultural show. Farmers are far more specialised these days and go to other places for equipment, so this is a general agricultural show for everyone.

“To me it is the top event, one I have marked down in my diary each year. As for the dancing, I am afraid I have got a bad leg so will just have to observe.”

MADONNA: 'I'M NOT TOO OLD FOR H&M'
"Partnering up with H&M feels like a perfect fit" - Madonna

MADONNA has hit back at claims she is too old to represent fashion chain store H&M - her spokesperson insists the 47-year-old has more energy than an 18-year-old.

The superstar was recently confirmed as the face of the Swedish company's Autumn 2006 range.

But the decision has been criticised by advertising experts, who claim Madonna is too old to represent the company, whose shoppers are mainly young women.

Ad guru JERRY DELLA FEMINA says, "These kids trade in stars every two or three years, and many don't know Madonna."

But the singer's spokeswoman LIZ ROSENBERG has hit back, telling PageSix.com, "I defy any 18-year-old to do a quarter of what Madonna does on stage. I hope Jerry Della Femina takes a nice pill."

LINDSAY LOHAN
Madonna's latest young friend: Lindsay Lohan

Has Madonna already found a replacement for Britney Spears?

The Material Girl reportedly dumped Spears as a buddy because the “Oops, I Did It Again” crooner failed to fully embrace Kabbalah and had returned to Baptist roots. Now, the buzz is that Madonna has become very tight with Lindsay Lohan, sharing religious and professional tips with the “Mean Girls” star.

Lohan recently acknowledged that she was “looking into Kabbalah,” and now, Madonna wants to sing a duet with the potential convert, according to In Touch Weekly.

“Madonna’s giving Lindsay advice on her music career, and she wants to work on a film with Madonna, too!” an insider told the mag. The source says the two talk a few times a week and are planning a “spiritual journey” once Madonna’s current tour is over. “They’re going to visit the Holy Land,” the insider says.

Neither Madonna’s nor Lohan’s rep responded to The Scoop’s requests for comment.

FAN SUES OVER TICKET SURCHARGES
Madonna Lawsuit Filed in Quebec

QUEBEC — A Quebec concert-goer miffed over the cost of seeing Madonna is seeking a class-action lawsuit against the province's ticket sales industry over hidden fees tacked onto prices.

Regis Giguere said he bought four tickets to see Madonna at the Bell Centre in Montreal, where she will perform June 21 and 22 during the only Canadian stop of her world tour.

Giguere said he paid $95 each for four tickets from Reseau Billetech, in Quebec City, and was charged a fixed fee of $14.90 on each ticket.
Giguere said Reseau Billetech and other ticket agents are taking advantage of their exclusive rights to sell the tickets to impose extra fees, which he says violates consumer protection laws.

The request for approval for a class-action lawsuit was filed Wednesday with the Quebec Superior Court in Quebec City.

Giguere, of l'Ancienne-Lorette, Que., wants to sue Reseau Billetech of Quebec, Reseau Admission of Montreal and Ticketmaster on behalf of all ticket buyers.

He's seeking the return of the extra fees and $100 each in damages.

MADONNA CONSIDERS PLASTIC SURGERY
Madonna considers plastic surgery, fights gay rumours and goes on tour

Pop star Madonna admits that she has been thinking about visiting a plastic surgeon in an attempt to fight the biological clock. Madonna, 47, adds she would of course keep it a secret even if she makes such a decision.

'I think about it, like everybody, and I don't rule it out. 'But I am not going to hold a press conference if I have plastic surgery,' Madonna was quoted by Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying.

However, with the release of her hugely successful new album Confessions on a Dancefloor, Madonna proudly presented her gorgeous and athletic body during her live performances and in Hung Up and Sorry videos. Needless to say that many women half the superstar's age dream to look like Madonna - fresh, beautiful, healthy and sexy. At age 47 Madonna can easily do the splits or put her foot behind her head.

According to The Sun, exercise addict Madonna works out for three hours a day - choosing a variety of alternative methods to the traditional pounding of the treadmill. Alongside her low fat and high fibre vegetarian diet, the sexy star goes horseriding, is a Ashtanga yoga expert and is a fan of the Vibrogym craze.

In the meantime, Madonna's daughter Lourdes has been showing more and more interest in the wild and raunchy past of her phenomenal mommy.

"Lourdes is really obsessed with who is gay," Madonna says in Out magazine's April issue. "And she even asked, 'Mom, you know they say that you are gay?' And I'm, 'Oh, do they? Why?' And she says, 'Because you kissed Britney Spears.' "And I said, 'No, it just means I kissed Britney Spears. I am the mommy pop star and she is the baby pop star. And I am kissing her to pass my energy on to her."

Madonna's kiss with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera became the key and the most exciting moment of the MTV Music Awards 2003. Most likely, that was the only 'gay moment' that Madonna experienced during the recent years of her life. However, one of the most widely known homosexual musicians, Sir Elton John, continues to criticize Madonna. The British musician, now a family man, had earlier slammed Madonna for lip-synching on stage. To add more fuel to the fire John called Madonna 'a miserable cow' when she had not accepted the invitation to be a guest of his wedding.

"He did send me a letter apologising for his last outburst, right before his wedding," Contactmusic quoted Madonna, "But he seems to be angry. I seem to have become a target. It's not very gentlemanly or gracious," she added.

KABBALAH ENDS MADONNA-BRITNEY FRIENDSHIP
Madonna invested a lot of time and money into introducing Britney Spears to Kabbalah

Looks like smooch-buddies Madonna and Britney Spears are buddies no more.

When the two locked lips on MTV, it made news around the world. Now, Madonna has reportedly dumped Spears because the “Oops I Did It Again” crooner has bailed on Kabbalah.

Madonna spent a great deal of time and money wooing the younger singer into the Kabbalah fold, and it worked for at least a while; Spears was spotted wearing the trendy religion’s trademark red string bracelet and toting around Kabbalah books.

But not long ago, Spears publicly ditched the mystical offshoot of Judaism, writing on her Web site: “I no longer study Kabbalah, my baby is my religion.”

Spears, who was raised a Baptist, has allegedly been consulting with a “Christian Life Coach” about her troubled marriage to Kevin Federline.

“Madonna spent months teaching Britney the Kabbalah system and splashed out thousands on the ancient scripture for her,” according to a source quoted by Virgin.net, which is further reporting that Madonna is demanding that Spears return the twelfth-century book on Kabbalah that she gave her as a wedding present.

Madonna’s rep had no comment by press time, but the source said: “She feels she has wasted time, money and precious gifts on Brit.”

MADONNA SCARED OF MOTHER-IN-LAW

The singer, who is married to British film director Guy Ritchie, has confessed despite being brave enough to dress up in bondage gear and 'ride' a leather-clad male dancer on her latest world tour she is fearful of Mrs Ritchie.

She told Britain's Sunday Times Style magazine: "Have I ever been totally and completely intimidated by another person? Yes. My husband's mother."
Madonna recently posed for a series of explicit photos influenced by her love of horse riding.

The 47-year-old singer dressed as a horse rider for the provocative shoot for America's 'W' magazine.

The images - shot by celebrity photographer Steven Klein - feature the star posing topless, wearing fishnet stockings, leather gloves and a riding crop.

HOT TO TROT
Madonna has reinvented herself again. Who couldn’t fall for girl, leather, whip and horse, asks Shane Watson

Say what you like about Madonna, we can’t stop talking about her. Every so often you think she might have lost her touch and fallen back on some overworked groove (the disco one, for example), but she has a way of taking the apparently obvious, pushing it, subverting it, making it all about sex and then twisting it some more until you’re not sure if it’s pastiche or porn. She’s been mocked for posing as a country squire-ette, complete with thoroughbred mount, ever since she made her home in England — her American audience, in particular, feared she had gone soft and posh.

Shame on them for not knowing her better. Madonna does nothing without an eye to the future of her brand, and this image is one she’s been itching to get to work on. Stallion and corseted lady rider is a look begging to be given the Madonna treatment. The image of the immaculately groomed upper-class filly astride her nervy pony, whip in hand, leather boots glistening, is the start of who knows how many sexual fantasies. From there it’s an easy step into the darker, pseudo-masochistic places that have become the material girl’s trademark.

And Madonna has given “horse power” her best shot — creating her own equestrian dominatrix with Victorian tailoring, Spanish details, a bridle chin strap and circus ringmistress fishnets. The look is a bit Night Porter, a lot Helmut Newton — pick this latest incarnation apart and it makes the disco leotard moment look like Sunday-school wear. It begins with stallions and domination and ends where it always does — with Madonna getting us all tapping our feet, longing for a rib-crushing black waistcoat and something (maybe a necklace?) with a giant snaffle. Ride on.

MADONNA TOUR TALK HITS TOWN
Will Madonna be the special guest star at the 20th anniversary celebrations of the ARIA awards in October?

It's a music industry rumour that sounds too good to be true, but insiders say there's a chance the Material Girl will make an appearance.

The singer, who is scheduled to perform in Japan in late September, is yet to announce any plans to perform in Australia - let alone appear at an awards ceremony. However, the industry buzz is centred on Madonna not only flying in for the ARIA awards ceremony, but staging concerts in major Australian cities in October.

Because this year is the 20th anniversary event for the ARIA awards, organisers, including event producer Mark Pope, are planning an extravaganza that will celebrate the depth and variety within the Australian music industry. But the awards ceremony is also expected to feature some big-name international stars, with Madonna at the top of the potential guest wish-list.

Local executives from Madonna's record label, Warner Music, are believed to be particularly enthusiastic about involving Madonna in the music event (not surprisingly), with negotiations continuing to secure her prized appearance.

Pope was maintaining a level-headed sense of humour about the whole thing, when contacted by S last week.

"I love the ARIA awards rumours - I only wish they were true," he said. "I think there's a better chance of me winning breakthrough artist album this year than Madonna walking down our red carpet."

But insiders say the negotiations with the Material Girl are continuing behind the scenes.

ANOTHER LAWSUIT

Madonna is facing yet another lawsuit, this time from a stagehand who was injured during her Re-Invention Tour stop at California's HP Pavilion at San Jose in 2004. Max Garcia claims in a suit filed Wednesday in Santa Clara County Court that a member of Madonna's crew rushed while loading equipment and failed to secure it properly, causing it to fall on him as they broke down the set after the show. Garcia's lawyer told MTV News that his client has been disabled for the past two years, unable to work because of back and spinal injuries, so they're seeking seven-figure monetary damages for lost wages (past and future) as well as medical costs. The case is scheduled for an October 17 management conference. At the same time, Madonna's got one less lawsuit to worry about. She and her Maverick Film Company were sued a year ago by two venture capitalists, Jim McClay and Barry Kohout, who claimed the Material Girl's company defaulted on a $100,000 loan. McClay and Kohout's lawyers at Jacobs Law Group just told MTV News that they've reached a "favorable" settlement that was "mutually acceptable."

Madge confirms she's a material girl

Middle-aged Madonna is to become the latest face of High Street fashion chain H&M.

Madge, 47, will appear in an ad campaign alongside her dancers for the Swedish store which is supplying the off-stage wardrobe for her and "Team Madonna". Her on-stage costumes will continue to be designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.

The Material Girl is in the middle of her Confessions World Tour and she is to design a special Madonna track suit which hits the shops in mid-August.

Madonna said: "Partnering up with H&M feels like a perfect fit. We'll all get to express ourselves in our individual ways. The dancers and I are excited to go shopping together."

H&M described the collaboration as "a dream marriage of music and fashion". The chain's last high profile signing was supermodel Kate Moss, who was set to appear in ads for Stella McCartney's range.

Moss was dropped by H&M after last year's cocaine scandal and instead replaced with Italian beauty Mariacarla Boscono.
