Review of Madonna's Confessions Tour at
the Bercy Palais Omnisports in Paris, FR

I literally just got back from Paris last
night. I'm so tired, but I wanted to share
my experience with you guys. |
|
|
| |
We left for Paris last Wednesday night,
and we arrived around noon the next day.
My best friend had won the H&M contest
to see Madonna, so upon arrival, we made
our way to our hotel in the St. Germain
de Pres area of the city. The location was
incredible! We were right across the street
from the Seine, the Louvre, and steps away
from Notre Dame. |
|
|
| |
|
| |
Our hotel, the Prince de Conti, used to
be an 18th century mansion, so it was very
charming, and cute. Upon arrival, H&M
spoiled us. They had lunch waiting for us,
a gift bag consisting of a Madonna and Crew
carrying bag, makeup bag, hoodie, and black
t-shirt, and tickets and hospitality lounge
passes for the concert. I was literally
in Madonna heaven! |

At 7pm, H&M had arranged a coach to
take all of us winners (there were lots
from other European countries) to the concert.
The whole time I was
thinking, "I'm I really in Paris, France,
about to see Madonna again?". It was
so surreal! |
|
|
| |
H&M are amazing! They really came through
for us! Our seats were on the side, really
close to one of the mini stages. The concert
itself was fantastic as usual! Madonna seemed
to be in good spirits, and having so much
fun! She was very talkative with the crowd.
The highlight of the show was when Lenny
Kravitz popped out at the end of the catwalk,
and performed I Love New York with Madonna.
It was insane, and it was at this in the
show that I lost my voice. They rocked that
sh*t out of the arena. Words
just don't do it justice! |

As for the crowd, they were pretty wild,
but I was a little disappointed. Before
the show, people were going crazy, and everyone
was doing the mexican wave. However, when
it started, people sat. Like people actually
sat when she came out of the disco ball.
I was so confused LOL!!! Thankfully, people
eventually got their butts out of their
seats. But they'd sit for the slower songs,
and some of her lesser well known songs.
My friend and I stood the whole time, and
thankfully no one said anything. Despite
this, the crowd was still really loud. In
terms of craziness, I think Montreal was
still the best, followed by Paris, then
NYC, and finally Boston. |

After the concert, the coach took us back
to our hotel. We pretty much just walked
around our area, which was pretty happening
at night. There were lots of beautiful cafes,
and there were so many people out enjoying
themselves. We were basically out, hunting
for a phone, so that we could call our families
and let them know we were still alive haha!!!! |
|
|
| |
On Friday, we pretty much spent the day
doing all of the touristy things. In the
morning, we went to the Louvre, which was
literally just steps away. That place is
so massive, so we just decided to see the
Italien painters (where the Mona Lisa is
located), French painters, and the Egyptian
and Medieval exhibits; all of which were
fantastic. The italian paintings were phenomenal!
Though we must have seen a painting of Madonna
and child, doing every possible pose/action
LOL!!! I guess it was appropriate though,
since we were in Paris to see Madonna haha!!!
We also saw the Mona Lisa, and we were both
shocked at how small a painting it is. Though,
it's just as mysterious looking as they
say it is. She kind of looks creepy, like
she's up to something LOL! |

Later in the day, we went to the Musee du
Textile, Concorde de la Place, shopped along
the Champs D'Elysees (where I bought a pair
of hot Dior
sunglasses), saw the Arc de Triomphe, and
ventured up the Eiffel Tower. |
|
|

| |
|
| |
|
| |
On Saturday, we had breakfast at a cafe,
went shopping along Blvd St. Michel, visited
Notre Dame, Saint-Chapelle, Crypte Archeologique,
went shopping in Forum des Halles, and visited
Centre Pompideau. That night, we went back
to see the Eiffel Tower, in all of it's
twinkling glory, and later got some wine,
and headed to the banks of the Seine, for
some late night drinking and talking. It
was perfect! |
|
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
On Sunday, we had a relaxing day at Montmarte,
and then finished off the day by exploring
Rue Mouffetarde and grabbing a baguette,
some cheese, wine, and grapes for dinner. |
|
|
| |
|
| |
On Monday, yesterday, we flew back to Toronto. |
|
|
| |
All in all it was a fantastic trip. H&M
really hooked us up, and I'm forever grateful!
This was my second time to Paris, and I
fell in love with it even more. I love how
relaxed and chill people are there. They
really take the time to enjoy their life,
which is a huge change from the hustel and
flow I see here in North America. And people
there are sooooo nice! But maybe it's because
I'm Canadian and can speak some french haha!
The only crazy thing about Paris, is the
driving haha!!! I don't know how they do
it, but it's
scary! It's such a struggle to cross the
street LOL!!! And it's really true what
they say about Paris being the city of lovers.
There are couples
everywhere! I'd love to go back with my
man one of these days. |
|
|
| |
What a wonderful way to end the summer!
Thank you
H&M!!!! |
