Review of Madonna's Confessions Tour at the Horsens Forum in Horsens, DK on Aug 24, 2006
by Mette ICONer from Copenhagen

It was my first Madonna show ever and also the best night of my entire life.
I wasn't at the front, but I didn't care. I had a blast anyway! I was dancing, singing, screaming, jumping etc like crazy! I couldn't see much of the stage, but I had an amazing view to the big screens. We moved around a lot, but made sure we still had a good view to the screens. When I caught a view of Madonna, it was like she was glowing. She was never hard to find on stage, because it was as if there was a light above her head.

The show was the same as usual. They had had some problems with the
discoball, which wouldn't open and close, but they got it fixed in time for the show, so it didn't affect the show at all. Madonna's vocals were great and she had more energy than the Duracell rabbit! She kept going on and on
and on and on and on.

During the Drowned World speech, Madonna said "Skål" and "Mine damer og herrer!" ("Cheers" and "My ladies and gentlemen" in Danish). The crowd went crazy. She made everyone say "We want peace, no more war, fuck George Bush!". The speech was probably one of the best moments, because she really had the crowd in her power.

Because we wanted to get to avoid queues, we headed to the exits during
Lucky Star. The view was much better there and I really enjoyed Hung Up. We hurried out of the stadium and started running down the street. Suddenly we got to a police block. A few police cars, then 3 cars with toned windows and a few normal cars sped away from the venue. Madonna had gone directly from the stage to her car. I'm pretty sure, I saw Guy Oseary in one of the regular cars!

I only got 31⁄2 hours of sleep, but I was still so high after the show, that I
managed to get through a long day of school. It's amazing how you suddenly gain a lot of popularity when you've attended a Madonna show.

The show has gotten a lot of critique from the Danish presse and some
so-called fans. The venue did indeed not fit the show, but the show was
perfect. Madonna shouldnt be blamed for the bad view, because she did not arrange the concert. A flat field with 85.000 people is not the perfect
venue for a Madonna concert, because it is more of musical theatre than a sing-along concert.

Thank you, Madonna, and 'skål'!
